Dear friend,

Index -

Words from Gerard

I have just come back from a very profound and moving weekend.  It was the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War and in particular the small squadron that I was involved in. It was an absolutely incredible experience, to see many of these men who I had not seen for nearly 25 years.  The strange thing was, it was as if I had not been away at all.  It was like going back in to a trusting family who accept you completely.  During the weekend we held a toast to fallen comrades and those who have died since. (Some are still fighting their own demons)  It was remarkable how many of those men still look the same and had kept themselves fit and healthy, and still display the same characteristics of honesty, good humour, acceptance, and steadfastness of character.

During the Saturday evening meal my wife leaned over to me and said, "isn't it wonderful, there are no pretensions" how different that is to much of normal life !

On the Saturday morning our old boss (Commander Rick Jolly) held a talk and slide show for the wives and children who accompanied us. (To show what Dad had done) and looking back I am truly amazed by what we achieved during those weeks in the South Atlantic. Although there were not many of us in our squadron (just a few dozen) and we were all different. Yet (as Malcolm Hazell said)

"on the same day we ALL faced the same way and we did the job together"

And although many years have now passed and I have gone on to do many more things with my life, I can honestly say I have never been more proud to have served with that particular bunch of men.

It really is a unique and wonderful experience to work with men that you completely and totally trust.

It has made me realise that in life it does not matter so much what you do half as much as who you are.

Why am I telling you all this?

Well you see, this is what we are creating within Noble Manhattan Coaching. An organisation that people can be proud to work with. An organisation that looks after and takes care of ALL of its students, ALL of its coaches and ALL of its clients. And when we work with our client companies and when we work with students on a course I like to think that we also

Come together on the day, We ALL face the same way and we do the job together

Warmest

Gerard

Welcome Calls for New Students

Having listened to the feedback given by our students over many months, we have realised that having to wait for the first Monday of each month to have a personal Welcome call by Gerard is not really suitable for everyone.

In fact we have found that most people, once they receive their course material in the post, want to get started immediately.

Therefore, we now have a newly archived “Welcome Call” that you can listen to 24 hours a day.

This is available in the member’s area for all our students - http://www.nmcma.com

India Update

Well, as many of you know I have just returned from yet another trip to sunny India (and it really was, over 42° on some days!)

What a whirlwind tour. Shira and I did in the region of seven to eight separate presentations every day.

The appetite for coaching and coach training in India is both huge and fabulous. Every large company that we met with not only understood the value of coaching but wanted to embrace it within their organisation.

It looks as if I'm going to have to make many many more trips over the next few years.

So, if there is anyone reading this that would like to be involved in helping us to develop the business throughout India I would be delighted to hear from you.

Warmest

Gerard

Coaching Tip

ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS

While most people spend most of their lives struggling to earn
a living, a much smaller number seem to have everything going
their way. Instead of just earning a living, the smaller group
is busily working at building and enjoying a fortune.
Everything just seems to work out for them. And here sits the
much larger group, wondering how life can be so unfair, so
complicated and unjust. What's the major difference between
the little group with so much and the larger group with so
 little?
Despite all of the factors that affect our lives - like the
kind of parents we have, the schools we attended, the part of
the country we grew up in - none has as much potential power
for affecting our futures as our ability to dream.

Dreams are a projection of the kind of life you want to lead.
Dreams can drive you. Dreams can make you skip over obstacles.
When you allow your dreams to pull you, they unleash a
creative force that can overpower any obstacle in your path.
To unleash this power, though, your dreams must be well
defined. A fuzzy future has little pulling power.
Well-defined dreams are not fuzzy. Wishes are fuzzy. To really
achieve your dreams, to really have your future plans pull you
forward, your dreams must be vivid.

If you've ever hiked a fourteen thousand-foot peak in the
Rocky Mountains, one thought has surely come to mind "How did
the settlers of this country do it?" How did they get from the
East Coast to the West Coast? Carrying one day's supply of
food and water is hard enough. Can you imagine hauling all of
your worldly goods with you . . . mile after mile, day after
day, month after month? These people had big dreams.  They had
ambition. They didn't focus on the hardship of getting up the
 mountain.

In their minds, they were already on the other side - their
bodies just hadn't gotten them there yet! Despite all of their
pains and struggles, all of the births and deaths along the
way, those who made it to the other side had a single vision:
to reach the land of continuous sunshine and extraordinary
wealth. To start over where anything and everything was
possible. Their dreams were stronger than the obstacles in
You've got to be a dreamer. You've got to envision the future.
You've got to see California while you're climbing fourteen
thousand-foot peaks. You've got to see the finish line while
you're running the race. You've got to hear the cheers when
you're in the middle of a monster project. And you've got to
be willing to put yourself through the paces of doing the
uncomfortable until it becomes comfortable. Because that's how
 you realize your dreams.

 To Your Success,
 Jim Rohn

Warmest Regards

The Noble Manhattan Team
