Well, what have I got to say today? I suppose a good question to start with is what have I learned?
One thing I've learned recently ( which I did already know, but ignored !!) is the power behind taking quality time off.
The weekend before last I took a quick last-minute break with my family and some friends and we flew to Spain for three days.
Just the fact of getting away from the working environment and spending time with people you value and care about pays huge dividends, and although it was only three days it actually fell like a week.
Now, isn't it interesting that this is something I actually teach on one of my courses and yet I myself am not always good at taking my own advice ( should I admit to that ??? The fact that I don't always practise what I preach ;-)
I came back feeling more with it than I have in a long time.
It really does pay to take time off ( in short sharp doses) it rejuvenates the mind the body and the spirit.
It frees up the intellect and gives you more emotional energy to tackle the road ahead.
I have to say I'm really looking forward to the next few months.
- We have a whole new brochure on the drawing board right now that will be available early November
- We have our first ( new look) support groups which will start first week in November. (first of many worldwide)
- We're launching new certificate programs mid-November
- We are on the point of signing licence agreements with organisations in Turkey and India for our "Certificate in Workplace Coaching" programme
- • And finally, I'm off to Long Beach, California at the end of this month to attend the four-day international coaching conference. If any of you are also going to be there, please come up and say hello and we can have a coffee together

Well here they are at last. I promised back in July that we would be launching a series of new coaching support groups early October.
These support groups will be unlike anything that is currently available in the United Kingdom or anywhere else in the coaching world.
It is our aim to launch at least 50 of these throughout the UK and Ireland and many more further afield.

We are only looking for another two or three people to add to our existing team.
This would suit any existing coach or student who is nearing the end of their course.
The role is one in which you would provide some coaching, support, care and guidance to some of our wonderful students currently going through their course. In practice we have found that you would not be required to do more than a couple of sessions per month.

Earning Ten Times As Much

Don't Sell Yourself Short
Here's an exercise for you: Imagine that it's possible for you to earn 10 times your current annual wage. If you're earning $25,000, imagine for a moment that it's possible for you to earn $250,000, a 1000 percent increase.
Never A Good Excuse
The first reaction of most people to that exercise is to smile briefly and then to begin thinking about why it isn't possible. One man said to me, "If you knew how many years it's taken for me to get to what I'm earning today you wouldn't be suggesting that I could earn 10 times as much."
Mark Twain once wrote that there are a thousand excuses for every failure but never a good reason. The tragedy of the average American is that whereas his or her main preoccupation seems to be money, or the lack thereof, the average person has the inherent potential to earn far more than he or she is doing currently.
Is the manager earning $250,000 per year 10 times as smart as the manager earning $25,000? Ten times as experienced? Does he or she work 10 times harder? Of course not. None of these are physically or mentally possible, but there are people in every business earning many times more than others with the same average age, experience and intelligence.
The Results Are In
In fact, a few years ago in New York, 1,000 men and women were selected at random and tested for I.Q. Between the one having the highest I.Q. in this sample and the one with the lowest, there was a difference of only 2 1/2 times. But between the person earning the most, who, by the way, was not the one with the highest I.Q., and the one earning the least, who was not the one with the lowest I.Q., there was a difference of 100 times in income.
Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do to start increasing your earnings.
First, identify the highest earning, most successful people in your field and find out what it is that they are doing differently from others who aren’t doing as well. Copy them every day.
Second, set a goal to double your earnings over the next two or three years and then figure out what you’ll have to do to achieve it. Get started!
